These two Blast Furnace Gas (BFG) fired steam generators were supplied to the steel industry. Each boiler is designed to produce 120,000 lb/hr of 1200 PSIG steam at 900° F. The boilers are also designed to alternately operate with only Natural Gas firing, when flue gas re-circulation will be used to control furnace temperature. The 100° F blast furnace gas is fired with preheated combustion air in a Schack® Cyclonic Combustor. Overall thermal efficiency of the system is 85%, based on the lower heating value of BFG (85.3 Btu/scf).
