The Regeneration Gas Cooler is designed as a single pass, cross flow, Schack® heat exchanger. Regeneration gas flows through the tubes, with cooling air passing transversely over the tubes. Typically all materials in contact with the reneration gas are manufactured from Type 316 stainless steel, Alloy 600 or Alloy 800H (depending on customer preference). The unit is designed to be supported by the regeneration gas inlet and outlet nozzles / piping, but can also be designed to be supported through the shell. More than 50 units have been supplied worldwide including more than 15 with ASME Code stamps.
