Finite Element Process

First the model geometry is created (or imported via CAD) and the loads and boundary conditions are applied to the solid model. Next the model is meshed into discrete elements. Once the geometry and environment are defined the solution is obtained and the results can be reviewed. There are many tools and methods available to verify the results. One such method is to animate the solution. This allows the engineer to visually determine if the model is behaving as predicted (...were the loads applied correctly? was the model constrained properly?).
